How do I know you're the right therapist for me?

  • Are you looking for a therapist that will truly put you and your goals first?

  • Are you looking to feel like you were actually heard during your therapy session?

  • If you're looking for someone who is dedicated to your personal healing process and genuinely cares

       ...and

  • Someone who shows up authentically while at the same time willing to walk the path of self-discovery along with you

  • Then you've described my therapeutic approach to your needs as a client

Who do you work with?

Any adult who believes their childhood trauma (sexual assault, emotional/physical abuse, neglect, etc.) is still impacting their life as an adult I’m interested in working with.  Often time trauma that occurs can get buried yet it will resurface as other types of problems later in life.  For example—relationship problems, difficulty expressing sexuality, numbing out with various addictions, chronic anxiety, a tendency to dissociate and forget things, codependency, rage, and other issues that have developed with time.

Do you work with kids?

No, I do not currently work with children. Kids are great, but teletherapy is not how I want to work with the youngest and most vulnerable population, as it can make it challenging and at times impossible to use certain tools and modalities that are so important in working with them and thereby running the risk of underserving them. Adults 18 and older are welcome in my practice.

Do you work with a wide range of clients?

Yes! I am open to all who seek healing.  I welcome all races, ethnicities, sexual orientation, and anyone above the age of 18 to my practice. If you enjoying exploring the inner workings of what makes you...you, then you’ll probably enjoy the therapy process.

What is your process?

Great question! I use a variety of modalities, all of which are “person-centered” or “mindful,” to examine how symptoms in the present may connect to traumas in the past. By resolving the unresolved pain of the past, we can often resolve the issues occurring in the present time.

I don’t want to talk about all the awful things that happened to me. Are you going to force me to talk it out?!

Absolutely not. Never. That's not how Trauma-informed therapy should work. Study after study has shown that “re-telling” your trauma can do more harm than good. What does help is something called “parts work,” and something else called “unconditional positive regard.”  We can work on your trauma recovery without you ever telling me what happened in your past.  I am more than okay to meet you at your own comfort level.
